Had my hubs painted and their is some overspray on the star and trim and suggestions as to how to fix this? should i just start over?

try wet 0000 steel wool on the chrome. the paint usually doesn't stick very well to the chrome and comes off fairly easily.

Does not seem a good idea to use wire wool on chrome, no matter what grade.
Why not use (carefully) the thinners that you used in the paint.
Or use Chrome cleaner.
