Current paint code look up
« on: August 19, 2025, 22:47:51 »
I would like to try some paint samples on larger surfaces. Is there a look up table where I could put in the paint code from the data card and get the modern day equivalent? I asked at the paint supplier outlet and their system dates back to the 80’s only. Looking at the BASF system, I got the link to their paint configurations system but there is to many unknown paint specific questions for me to understand.
Glasurit link seams to be inactive.
I’ll appreciate some guidance. We could use the 335 paint code as an example.
Thanks

Mark, Glasurit page works just fine
https://coloronline.glasurit.com/CCC/html/index.php

Any reputable paint shop will have the old Mercedes codes. They will mix the color with no issues by punching the code into the mixing machine computer.

You will get much better results than comparing to any printed color or any color on computer screen.

Thanks Pawel,
The plan is to spray on a large surface first, before I commit. The shop that will paint the car uses different paint lines and like most around me goes back to 80’s only. I think I may have to ask them to order the sample from BASF directly and then spray the sample panel. That whole process is kind of complicated here.

That site does work.  Difficult to use on the phone, though.  Should one be able to get mixture info?  I click my color (124) and several nation flags pop up.  I pick one and nothing happens.

I've never painted a car, but many, many people get "original color" repaints.  I'd think an appropriate shop could get the info.  But, if an exact historically correct match is not the goal, then carry on and achieve your own goals.  Each owner has their own goals, budget, etc.
