Great idea, noticed that it says they are fog light bulbs.  Do they give the correct light pattern etc? Mainly for the UK mot etc.

The UK members may be able to confirm or correct this, but I thought recent MOT rule changes have clarified that no LED bulbs retrofit are permitted at all now - only when part of OEM spec’ed headlamp assembly (obviously n/a for the W113).

yes thats correct..... but doubt many mot stations would look or even care, but yes it would be illegal. only good news is pagodas dont actually need an mot anymore to be legal. And i guess you could swap them out at MOT time

It is also illegal in EU, unfortunately.

I refrained from this modification. It is indeed very unlikely that anybody would check or spot this. We do not have to go through technical inspections if the car is registered as classic.

but...

I wonder what would happen if, touch wood, we would get into dispute with any insurance company (covering my car or a car I accidentally damaged) when it, touch wood again, comes to payment for damages....

I have a 20 year old resto mod Landrover Defender at my home in Portugal, which had LED headlamps fitted as part of the restoration.

These lights are far superior to the Halogen bulb headlights they replaced, but the testing station failed it at the inspection since they were not original equipment and I had to have the old headlights put back in.

So in some countries they are quite particular about checking !

The UK are very advanced in motoring rules, I think. Overall in Europe the concern is that LED lights will blind the drivers going in opposite direction if not designed to be there. And I think it is a fair concern.

They are better for you, but not for the others.
