Fuel pump power
« on: October 08, 2012, 22:10:09 »
Howdy all.  New to this forum.  A friend has asked me to get her late husbands 1970 280sl running so she can sell it.  New to working on this car and believe the problem revolves around the fuel pump not getting power.  The car will start if i spray starting fluid in it.  Looking at the wiring diagram it appears to be a straight line from fuse #4 to the fuel pump.

I have no power on the fuel pump.

Fuse #4 does get power when i turn the ignition.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the is no power at the pump you probably have a bad ground.

Most likely a corroded fuse. Check the fuse contacts at both ends for power, to be sure.
