Need to replace my FSVT?
« on: May 26, 2024, 21:12:25 »
Here's a pic of underneath my car.    Noticed the last few times I was driving around I'm then dripping gas.      Used to have the FSVT underneath but noticed now its gone....

I have had people working on it.

What's the replacement solution?    Couldn't find any in reviewing the fuel venting topics.     Here's a pic of where it must've broken off and where I'm leaking gas once I've been out driving around.     Guessing its been bent and broke off.    Looking for solution of part to use to replace and how to address.

Thanks much!

FSVT = Funnel Shaped Vent Thingy

I believe you have a more serious issue than just missing the FSVT, I don't believe that prevents fuel leaking, so I think there's another cause for that that you need to investigate. Maybe a clogged vapor canister.

Cees,   I know it used to be there and haven't ever had an issue.    Not leaking much.   Just some out of that hole once I've zipped around a bit.   Haven't noticed it at all on the fuel gauge.

Just noticed some drips here and there.

Does the FSVT just attach with a hose?  Looks like it just was bent off?

Seems like a good start is replacing?   Then go from there.

Thanks,  leaking some so guessing I should just replace the whole vapor / venting set up.     Pretty reasonable.

I think it's best; you really don't want any fuel leaks, it's an indication something is wrong - and it could get worse! Fires start this way.
