Timing on 1966 230SL
« on: October 04, 2017, 00:38:39 »
The tech manual says the timing on this car is set with vacuum retard connected.  But several other manuals I have say to disconnect and tape closed.  What is the right method?  The dizzy is an -047.  Thanks very much!

I set up all of my cars with everything connected because that's the way it works while driving. Set idle timing to about 8 degrees BTDC and check at 3,000 RPM which should be around 38 degrees if everything is working right inside your distributor.
