Process of restoring an ivory steering wheel
« on: March 29, 2015, 14:54:23 »
I am looking for information and options on the proper way of restoring the ivory steering wheel in my 1963 220seb coupe.
How are they normally restored?
Regards
Peter

Peter,I don't know how it is done but there is a guy in Poland that restores ivory wheels for the w113.  He sells them on e-bay.  You can probably contact him through e-bay and maybe he'll tell you how they do it.

Youtube is the magic. Check it out there, not overly complicated, unless you expect perfection.... in which case, buy restored.

I am inclined to go with my initial thoughts using Marglass to fill the cracks and then match the color using single or 2 stage car paint.
