SL Lightweight Wheels Help
«
on:

I have got a set of lightweight wheels for my 1971 SL.
The issue I have is I am trying to fit my hub caps to the wheels and they will not fit as they seem to be too small!!
Help.

Hi Stephen - Just to clarify, do you mean the aluminum wheels that look like steel wheels as shown in the lower portion of this link:
http://www.sl113.org/wiki/WheelsTires/Alloys
The hubcaps are the same but the hubcap clips are different. The hubcap clips have a nylon pad on the area that fits against the wheel, presumably to not scratch the wheel. The part number for the correct hubcap clip is A 123 400 00 27 and is available from MB for MSRP $7 each, on-line dealer price of about $5.23 each. You need 16 of them.
