Separate Floor Mats
« on: July 24, 2004, 16:13:16 »
My interior has recently been restored and I want my "snap on" carpeted mats to be protected.  I want to buy a floor mat to go over the carpeted snap on mat.  Did Mercedes make a mat to go over the snap on floor mat for the 280 SL? If so does anyone have a good place to buy them? or is there a good aftermarket mat available anywhere?

Thanks
Dan

Mercedes offered optional coco mats on the W113. I have these on my car and am very happy with them. They are not like the traditional type that let dirt and sand thruogh. This new coco mat has a rubber backing to prevent that sort of thing happening. They stay in place with rubber spikes this keeps them from sliding. They come in a variety of colors you can view these www.cocomats.com   :D

Thanks Hauser.......did you order the "universal set" or did you have them custom made?  not sure they will look all that great with a red interior like I have

Can you post some pix? I'd love to see another red interior.

Thanks, Dan.

This company manufactures the best cocomats you will find, and they are offered in 13 different color combinations.  There should be something suitable to just about any interior.

Dan I ordered custom. You will need to specify if your car has A/C. The reason is the A/C unit takes up a little bit upper floor space and passenger mat will be shorter. Jeff at cocomats has patterns for virtually any car. When I was ordering I wasn't sure what color combo to order and what would look best. I tried several of the samples Jeff sent and I narrowed it down to two. I got his opinion and he was right as to which would look best.

These are also available for the trunk and rear parcel shelf. I only have the floor mats.
