Trunk lock assembly
« on: May 10, 2011, 00:35:38 »
Hi all,  Looking for a trunk lock assembly.  When removing mine for a new paint job, one of the nuts was so corroded that the bolt broke off and now I only have one bolt and nut, definitely not enough to remount it.  Anyone have a spare for sale or a suggestion on how to repair what I have?

Thanks,

Kyle

Mine had one broken as well.  I drilled the remains of the old stud to create a small starter hole.  Went to the friendly Ace Hardware store and bought a screw with the same threads (its been too long to remember), cut off the head and anchored it in the hole with PC7 epoxy. It has to set up overnight but once it does its fairly indestructible when its used for metal on metal. Its been on the car for nearly a year without any problems.  Note than it isn't necessary to really torque that screw down though.
