Heater core
« on: October 18, 2010, 11:35:08 »
There are times when my love affair with this car fades a bit, this is one such time. I am attempting to remove
the heater core as the bracket has fallen off the end. I need to remove the central bracket on the transmission tunnel
but the bolt turns without loosening. Do I need to get to a nut above the gearbox or has a weld broken on a
captive nut :'(
I cannot see that the blower motor will come out without removing this bracket!!!

There is a non-caged nut above the gearbox on the transmission tunnel.
You will need to enlist some help to undo that one...

Don't blame you. This is one of the tougher jobs on the car.

You can xs it after removing the top cover on the trans tunnel.
You will need a longish open ended spanner and find it by feel.
