I have a friend that used to work for the county. In his spare time he made signs for various friends and family.
Sorry to say this was NOT made by the county or city, but by their private vendor on the other side of the state (western Michigan). BUT since it has the City's logo on it I had to get permission from the city in order to have it made. I do indeed hope that Joe fabricates a post and frame or something and has it up sometime. (hint, hint).
In a bizarre coincidence, the history of "Mary Alexander" the city clerk tells us she was a bit like our present day Mary! Outspoken, a little feisty, but lovable enough to name a street after her. Also, all is not what it seems: Mary Alexander Ct. is not a court; it is a through street, one way east to west and only about 600 feet long. Several nice restaurants call it home. There are exactly 2 street signs on it, one on either end. The east side (where the photo was taken) is the only sign with the city logo on it. The west side is a very small sign, insignificant.
