I think they are the tiny female electrical plug 'sockets' that are used in the wiring harness, that wires are soldered into.

No. Mercedes did not call them "bushings". Bushing is not a German word. They may have called them "Hülse", maybe.

There are many standards for these pins that go inside plug fittings. You just have to figure out which one!

In a former life with computers, I used to use a lot of these that were made by Amphenol. They were crimp fittings, and there  were small, inexpensive tools to both crimp them, and to place them inside the plastic connectors, and remove them from the connectors when needed. I would imagine the same exist for whatever standard these connectors are.

If I understand correctly what you are looking for is all here: https://www.sl113.org/wiki/Electrical/Connectors

The simplest way of getting them is at Mercedes. You will also get the right size by following the part numbers.

Fair price - they do not cost a fortune (ca $1-2), so unless you are after a couple of thousands, perhaps it is acceptable. You do not risk getting the wrong part. And you do not pay shipping, which would probably exceed value of connectors if you want 5-10 of them.

They are called contact pin or contact sockets.

Just modified this post by adding the below:

A good way of looking for "fair price" is to cross-reference the manufacturer part number with other manufacturers part numbers in a good internet store. If you take the pin bushing A 001 545 38 26 and cross reference it, you will get, for example, this:

https://www.iparts.pl/czesc/wtyk-herthbuss-50253950-herthbuss-elparts-50253950,0-72-50253950-3928266.html

Then if you check further in the tag "OEM Numbers" you will get part numbers for other producers.

They are not, however, available. This internet store, iparts, is a part of a large network and usually have better availabilities than other retailers.

The price is a little over $1. Then you add shipment - that is why I buy some of these things from Mercedes.
