Convertible top fit
« on: October 15, 2008, 18:49:50 »
Well I received all my Conv parts and I went ahead with my top project and it went on well being it was my first time.  Well I got it all together and installed the frame and I encountered a a huge problem.  The top will not close now.  The frame seems to be 2 inches short at the windshield.  Are there any tricks to stretching this top out?  I bought german canvas and it was an exact match of the old one that came off. The quality of the top is very good but I believe I might have made an error or I may be missing an easy fix.  Thanks the continued support on my project.

Take some time to do a search under 'softtop' and you'll find a wealth of info on this very subject - a lot of it by me as I had exactly the same problem. There are many many adjustments to try out. The site could probably use a separate section on this as it comes up time and again.
