Which 15" steel wheels fit a Pagoda?
« on: August 11, 2008, 12:30:35 »
I notice the classic centre rally SL has 15" steel wheels. What model of Mercedes would these have come from and would those wheels have the correct offset to fit these to a 68 280 sl.

What other 15" wheels from the mercedes range fit a pagoda? Perhapes the w123?

Thank you
Garry

Here's a Pagoda on 15" (x7) alloys
Tyres 205/65x15.
Car is an early 250SL with 5spd ZF wow!

15 inch steel wheels probly came from a W124 or 126??

Garry,
Here's a picture of my 1963 230SL with 1967 200D Fintail Universal wagon wheels, which are 15"ers.

Hi Walter and Naj,
Thanks for taking the trouble to post the pictures.I'm surprised that nobody is running steel 15" wheels with the 15" classic style wheel covers.

Garry:
Off hand, I can't think of any 15" with caps, at least on this side of the pond.  The 126s switched to alloys in the late '70s, all 14s,  only exception being the 6.9 that came with 15" bundts.  123s were all 14".  107s switched to 15" with the 560sl in '86, alloys only, maybe I'm forgetting something?

Didn't the 300 sereis Pontoon cars have 15" wheels with center caps and trim rings? I think this was where the 1964 rally Pagoda's oversize wheels came from from.

Interesting topic.  Was there ever a Mercedes-Benz model produced with 15" wheels and full (280SL style) wheel covers and are those covers available today?
