‘71 completely restored
« on: June 16, 2025, 18:57:58 »
Have loved & owned this car since 1984. The last twenty years, she sat in my carport waiting to be restored. She is done now. New paint (291), leather and chrome, matching as new in ‘71. Manual. 18k miles. Not concourse because new seatbelts, Europa Bluetooth sound system, and a new air conditioning compressor replaces the factory installed ‘71 compressor.

The OP doesn't say it's for sale...

I put this car in the Photo section, thinking it would be of general interest; another 280SL that offers some food for thought from the outstanding restoration by Silver Star. Happy to share ideas, but the removable matching leather cup holders and the seat belt arrangement is observable.

Having owned her for over forty years, she’s now like new while I’m longer in the tooth. She is still a true delight to shift through the gears on these NC mountain roads, albeit at a more reasoned pace with the wind blowing through less of my hair. I guess when my hair is gone, I’ll have to consider selling her.

Great taste in coco mats. I have the same pattern in both my cars. :^)

Great looking, nice seeing another Pagoda restoration, and back on the road, where it should be. Well done.
