Questions solved and... I need to get those retainers and put them to link the fork and the bearing...  ::)

Interesting...

I had only in mind the loop shaped ones, not the clips.
Do we need both of them because I can't clearly see how the clips goes into the assembly

Here's a long shot for Joe or the Doctor; Is there a bolt on the left side of the engine that threads all the way into the crankcase?  If so, a bolt that's too long might be interfering.

The circle part you are looking for is the snap ring that fits in the ball socket that the clutch fork pivots on.

I suspect it’s full of grease and you can’t see the snap ring.

Good remark I'll take a look at that before ordering too fast something already inside the fork...  ::)

Both are there at Mercedes. Yellow dots mean 72 hrs availability, I guess your place will be no different than mine. Numbers 63 and 62, you have part numbers there. One of the has changed - you have the history. Prices are in PLN, divide by 4,4 and you have them in EURO. The higher amount is with VAT.

The throwout bearing slides back and forth on the sleeve and the sleeve keeps the bearing centered on the pressure plate. On a 230SL the clutch fork "fingers" have spring retainers holding the bearing in place (see pics).

Retainer spring is not installed correctly. Should slide into a hole in the mounting sleeve.

Look at the picture of the sleeve with the retainer clip. The straight end of the clip goes into a hole just behind where it is shown in the picture. You will need to unhook the 90 degree end and then find the hole where you start the clip. Clip should be installed straight end first followed by the 90 degree bend or you will probably have a very difficult time getting it to install.

As Dan says, those clips need to be in the fork and the bearing - there are small holes on each, on each side to receive the clip.

Do the least accessible side clip first, put the bent end of clip in back of fork then rotate bearing to get the straight end in the bearing hole. Then on the other side, rotate bearing into position, put the straight end in first into the bearing hole, then push the bent end back behind the fork and into the hole there.
