Conversion of manual to automatic transmission

Easy answer first - yes, others have done this.

The difficult part is cost and difficulty. Unless the car holds some special meaning, you are probably better to look for an automatic.

What is your pagoda? A 230SL or 250SL are more difficult to convert.
