Entrance Lighting
« on: November 30, 2022, 19:29:34 »
I know many people don't drive their Pagodas at night, but I'm curious if anyone has done anything to upgrade their entrance lighting?  That single dim bulb under the center dash area isn't much.  Anyone hook up something more substantial?  I like how my 450SL has a pair of lights in the windshield header, between the glass and sun visors.  (Although, those are low voltage dim lights as well.)  Maybe a small wire could be run up the A-Pillars and a small bulb placed in the corners, maybe even using adhesive on the glass?

Maybe something like this?

I assume it would be easy to connect into the door switch circuit, since the interior light already does that.  Right??

Hey rwmastel,

I also found the lighting to be way too dim, so I upgraded the bulb inside the cabin light to an LED version (not an easy fit, but just about got it in there at an angle!), and I also used some adhesive-backed LED strip lighting which I ran along the bottom of my Budz Benz aftermarket aircon unit, which I wired into the cabin light terminals. I think I got the inspiration from another member of this forum but I would have to dig out the post.

The results have been pretty good (although the adhesive on the LED strip does sometimes come undone).

There are lights when you open the door?   I need to find mine and get them working.  That looks great.

One light.  Under middle dash.
