W111 3.5 coupe seat repair
« on: May 29, 2022, 17:12:23 »
Driver's bottom seat on my coupe has sagging, but unbroken, flat springs giving a "gangster's lean." Replacement spring assembly no longer available. Any suggestions on how to repair? I will go pool noodle route in interim.

This is a similar seat to the Pagodas in construction. I believe the "horsehair" pads are still available and will make a huge difference as well as the noodle. I would search on this site and I bet there are other better recommendations. Common problem.

Thank you for your response. I have a new pad, but want to be sure the springs are formed up.

If similar to pagoda seat springs — this worked great for me:

Also, a piece of carpet on the springs helps a lot.
