230 SL taillight connecter
« on: September 09, 2021, 00:14:07 »
Does anyone have a diagram for the taillight cable connector? It does not match the 480 SL.

Dear friend

230/250/280SL share the same tail light connector, differences may only be related to the taillight itself which changes from model to model.  But…. Regarding to signals all of them receive the same ones.

Attached some pictures from EURO SPEC connectors.

Best regards

Dear afibbe

Found a better picture for the same repair.  See attachment.

Numbering for the pins from top left to the bottom connection are: (these are for the Right side tail light)

1. Top left = grey red, terminal 58, driving lights
2. Top right = brown - ground
3. Middle left = black green (turn signal)
4. Middle right = grey yellow = reverse light
5. Bottom left = black/red = brake light
6. Bottom right = green = Pa light, parking lights

Same story applies to the terminal connector of the left side (driver) , the one that receives double leads on the reverse light pin (grey yellow).

Only differences will be, that

1. Receives a grey/black cable
3. Receives a black/white cable for turn signals.
6. Receives a green/black stripped cable for the parking lights

Best regards
