Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy
« on: March 13, 2021, 23:22:19 »
Watched my recording of the 2011 version of the above film, and low and behold, a Pagoda appears when one of the British spies is trying to to a Hungarian lady, and there it was! The two of them in a pagoda on a lovely sunny day larking around 😁

Here are a few still photos from the Pagoda scene filmed in Istanbul with Svetlana Khodchenkova (Irina) and Tom Hardy (Ricki Tarr) in a 280SL.
Not sure why one reminds me more of a hair commercial than a spy movie.
Did you like the 2011 version better than the 1979 BBC series?

To answer your question, I don’t remember the 1979 series. I think there was an older film with the same title, but that was the only thing it had in common!

Will now see if I can find the 1979 series😁

Was the 1979 BBC series the one with Alec Guinness?

Thanks Gary
Thought it might be something like that causing the blocking of the video. Will investigate the VPN route 😁

Doubt it, knowing the BBC budget it was probably a Morris Minor 🤣
