We are looking for a factory set of luggage for the trunk, how many pierces? 3 or 4?  Anyone has a lead on factory original set?

Good luck finding an original set.

Here is the Hepco (soft luggage brand) that preceded the brown 113 style.

Honestly, Unless you are planning to show the car and use the luggage as a prop it might cheaper and better to go to a bespoke luggage maker.

It would definitely be cheaper.  This set of original Hepco is the ONLY full set l have ever seen.  Others have various pieces, but I've never seen a set of ALL the pieces, especially the makeup kit.  The car, 190 SL, only has 24K miles on it, original paint, almost all original interior and is pretty much a unicorn.  What's not original on the car, I have in a box.  With the luggage and all the original accessories and factory ring binder manuals and documentation from new, it becomes an entire package of originality.

If someone offered me, I'm not sure I'd sell the set for $25K

It would be really fun to see some guesses from members on what a set of luggage from the citation above might cost.

For openers, I sold my previous 3 pieces, one large, one medium, one hat for $8K four years ago, when I lucked upon the set above.

Are these from the first link from GM as well as those from Shvegel correct? They have completely different locks from what was considered genuine...

Now here is the opposite end of the spectrum.  Brand New 1960's Pierre Cardin Vinyl set of 5 pieces in Dark Blue that is a perfect match for my leather interior.  A little over $100.00 plus shipping and 15% Sales and VAT.  Bought on eBay from an antique dealer.  Note they still have the cardboard inside to keep them from scuffing when they are nested each inside the other.  Original keys, locks and Pierre Cardin matching luggage tags were included.
Used once by my nephew and me when we packed for Meeting of the Clans II.
I couldn't resist showing the alternative.  I felt rich and famous when we checked into the Idlewyld Inn in London, Ontario.

Very smart set Tom, and smart decision 😁

Do you manage to get all in the boot/trunk or do some go behind the front seats?

Two can go behind the seats if necessary.  We only took two in the trunk though, because it was a five day trip for us.  To top it all off, I made a perfectly matching trunk tie-down with two really cheap one inch wide leather belts with chrome buckles, a few suitcase type rivets and a 1/4 inch diameter chromed extension from my tool kit for the rods that fit the two brackets welded into the trunk by the factory - about $10 total.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity.  Those antique suitcases sell for almost nothing in antique shops.

Remember we have two different trunk configurations. The early one with the spare standing up and the later one with the spare lying flat. I have serious doubts that you will be able to fit more than two cases into a late trunk.

I agree, Mike.  We fitted the two largest if I remember correctly, strapped in on the driver's side with the spare tire mounted on the passenger's side of my '66 230SL.  There were still, however, a few small spaces scattered around the trunk for things like tools, cleaning kits, spare parts, fluids, covers, work clothes, etc., just in case.

One of my restoration mini-projects was to procure parcel shelves to replace the Kinder Seat when travelling with only two persons, which I did for Meeting of the Clans II.  It provided room inside the cockpit for other stuff like jackets, hats, reading materials, and "relatively hidden storage under the "Windschott".

I love that car.

Nothing like the original but this is what I would call "Bespoke, Period Correct Luggage" that I have in my car.  I get many comments about it matching the car.

Hi,
The following link was posted in our UK Club forum.  The price was a bit rich for my taste, and besides which the seller won't ship to the UK.
