As I expect there is a fair amount of crossover between this forum and the FB W113 forum, many may have already seen this car, but this an (apparently) quite original about to go up for auction or wind up on BaT (I have no involvement with this).  Exterior cosmetics not great (and long-term storage may have taken its toll), but nice to have so much detail in the Dropbox file on the elements of the car (would be nice to have year-by-year visual reference vehicles on the forum).  As there are others on the site more knowledgeable than I on the 250SL differences vs. late 230SL, it would be interesting to hear if this vehicle is as original as it appears to be.  Here is the Dropbox link, and the description / history is attached below.  https://www.dropbox.com/…/yoxkn7…/AACurunZixzy1LHHhgDiyPvBa…

Heres a drop box link to my 250SL roadster, its a California car and one owner from new, totally original including paint and fitted luggage its been off the road since 1982 and has covered just 43989 miles, it's now running after 37 years,
It will be available for sale in the near future

Below is the info

Bought in July 1967 from Autohaus Brugger of Palo Alto, California by a local couple, John and Joyce Evans, this 250SL was ordered in Tunis Beige with Brown leather, Automatic transmission, power steering, air Conditioning and 3 pieces of fitted luggage , it was further optioned without soft top, although it is a regular roadster and not a California coupe. They enjoyed the SL until Mr Evans death in 1982 at which time the car was stored and never driven again, it was sold upon the passing of Mrs Evans, the title is in the name of her estate. This is a one owner from new, all original 43898 mile car.

The Evan's were fastidious record keepers, included are the sales receipt from Autohaus Brugger, the check used in payment, the PDI sheet, first registration receipt and California evidence of license and all of the service, instruction and radio books
When the cars were delivered by Mercedes Benz the key sets were supplied with an aluminum dog tag on which the last four numbers of the VIN were stamped, this is in the service book wallet.
Maintenance services are stamped up to 41k miles in 1981. We understand that in 1982 Mr Evans died, the SL was subsequently parked until today.
We received car in absolutely original condition, the paint is factory original throughout, sadly it has deteriorated due to storage. Inside the seat belts have faded but the leather on the seats is almost perfect. All electrical systems work including radio, lights, switches etc.
The three pieces of luggage are unused and the keys remain on their cotton strings attached to the respective cases handle. The spare tire is the original Firestone Phoenix as specified on the Data Card, the current four other tires are Michelin XAS, of course from the 1970’s, these are most likely the first set of replacement tires after the factory Phoenix. The hang tags in the trunk are all there including the one for the jack which has never been used, so too the spare tire mounting instructions still hanging from the left hinge. The interior is as it was purchased in 1967, the leather is supple and in outstanding condition.
Under the hood, the hoses are marked ‘Metzeller' and dated I / 1967

Thanks for the fix on the link.

Thanks for posting.  Very nice to see.  Quite a bit looks to be original.   Since it’s wet, I assume a degrease and power wash was done.

Carpet however looks replaced based on the non-molded trim around the gearshift.

This will be a nice set of photos for those originality experts.

“Holy Grail - Tunis Beige edition” ?

mclewis:
To me, it appears that there is a tan or beige rubber trim between the chrome box and the carpet.
