I took 6 years to get it to what it is today. Money? More than I would ever thought to spend on a car :).. Much more to be honest.

Looks incredible.  Why sell it after getting it to this point?

A former Mercedes saloon car!
Lost in translation.  Isn't "saloon" a 4-door?

Congratulations on VIN 63, that's great!

Sorry for my english... :-\ In German it is "Ausstellungsfahrzeug" . It was not a normal customer order but a special order from Mercedes itself for car showroom.

Very, very rare, both due to the age and the fact it was a showroom car, that was a good find Sead

It looks like there were different levels of showroom presentation, for anyone who hasn't seen one, have a look on here, this was option code 997, so different from Seads car.

Apart from the different engine finishes, note no spot welds visible

This was one of Phil Lutfy’s cars.  As the story goes, it was his favorite w113 in his collection.  The spot welds were filled with lead, sanded and then painted. Instead of cadmium plating, chrome was used on the FI tubing and other parts.  The engine cover was finished in gloss black.  The overall effect brings it to an entire different level.

Although Sead’s car is not finished like this, it remains in my mind as one of the best restorations I’ve ever seen. His attention to detail is quite remarkable.  Love the color combination.

Joseph,

First, this is a PUBLIC forum.  Your phone number is now out there for the entire world to see.  I recommend that people do NOT put personal information on the forum.

Second, there are two ways for you to reach out to Sead and contact him.  If the sale of the car is first offer first sale, than why wait for him to find this message and contact you?  Private message within the forum, or direct email between the two of you.  Please see attached.
