Final product.  Thanks for everyones assistance, especially Alfred.  Chris was correct in that it is not terribly hard to do once you have done it a few times.  First time took awhile.  Next time I'll cut the time in half.  For anyone planning to do this make sure you have a lot of spring clips.  I had 20 and could have used more as pretty much every inch needs a clip to hold the fabric while the glue dries.  Also replaced the weather strip around the outside of the lid.  Much easier.

spent some time this sunday removing the soft top hatch and the old material from the metal frame.

interesting the old material was glued to the metal frame both sides.

Looking forward to the challenge to get it all back together again, the pre cut piece from GAHH is not exactly the same cut as the old piece (photo)

Matt, yes mine was like that as well.  It will make sense once you start pulling the material in at the corners.

hi
i re did this job, this time starting fresh with the grainger foam that Alfred had used in the past.

the job came out much much better.

one tip for those taking this on,  is once you start working on the inside where the material will fold under and be covered by the chrome trim
start in the inside curves,  stretch and fold and clip in place.  get the wrinkles out and then work the straight sections.
