anybody want my set of 14in Bundt wheels?
« on: June 17, 2017, 19:37:07 »
Hello All,

I have purchased a set of new factory 15 inch Bundts for my car.

If anybody is interested in taking the old ones off my hands, please contact me. They are RIAL branded (a little rash on only one of them) and have served me well for 12 years. Michelin tires are still mounted but they are too old to be comfortably safe to drive on.

Details and photos on request.  I will answer all PM's.

Did you put 15 inch tires on original 5.5 inch wheels? Do the front tires rub? Thanks, Bill in Boise

Cograts Larry, the way to go. You'll see a difference on how the car corners now.

What does that do to your speedo reading? Isn't it off when you use 15" wheels?

The increase in wheel diameter is cancelled out by using a lower profile tire. See my previous post about the wheel change over.

If that's the case, what effect does it have on handling? The steering geometry doesn't know whether the radius of the front wheel is made up of how much steel or rubber?

Lower tire profile = less rubber "float" sideways, holding contact patch geometry better, better grip/holding and handling.
Also: more rims and tires destroyed against the curbs and holes in the roads.
