Seat padding suppliers
« on: December 25, 2015, 14:55:07 »
Hello and happy holidays.

I ordered a new leather interior but failed to purchase the seat padding kit. From a fairly thorough review of the suppliers/vendors listed on this site, its would appear that most actually obtain them from GAHH and then resell.

Has anyone had luck recently with any new/alternative suppliers to GAHH, Buds, World Auto Uph, K&K, California top, etc??    Maybe buying from EU?

It would seem the postings from 2006-10 had the per seat price around $120. Now their $250+ so 4 piece kits range from $900-$1200.

Thanks in advance for anyone who comes up with suggestions that might assist. Chris.

(yes, I also searched past threads and discussions before posting for fear of being lectured ;)

I just recovered my W111 front seats and the pads came from GAHH. They were made in Mexico and are rubberized something or other but are very firm. In fact the back is so firm I sit more upright. I can't see any issues with these.

The Original Mercedes pads 113 914 01 16 x 2, 113 914 03 14 x 1 and 113 914 04 14 x 1 are available and list for $1224.00 for the set of 4 and a number of Mercedes dealers offer 15-25% discount off that price.

If you look at most of the other parts prices they have doubled since 2008.  Euro headlights I bought for 550USD each are now 1250USD each.
