Spring time in Gold Country
« on: March 21, 2016, 16:46:39 »
I had the car in for it's yearly check up last week so Friday we decided to take a drive and enjoy a beautiful almost spring day (rained yesterday, the official beginning of spring up here). Put nearly a hundred miles on the car just meandering around the foothills which have never looked better thanks to a nice wet winter. On the way home we drove down our hometown Placerville's Main street and then lunch al fresco at the local In and Out, a California institution. We then stopped down in Coloma next to the very full American River just a few yards away from where gold was discovered back in 1848 which started the great gold rush of 1849 when the "49ers" from all over the world came to seek their fortune. It was great ride and had half a dozen shouts of "nice car" along the way.
