Agree on the color combo.

Mine 1970 280SL is dark red with tan interior - might this be the same?

Not absolutely clear from the pics...
... but seems to be

That was my guess also. I'm about to restore a 542G, the previous owner repainted in a more metallic paint so I was interested to see how it looks.
