a Picnic with Pagoda near Warsaw
« on: April 26, 2014, 15:25:22 »
As a first appearance this spring, on 10th May we are organizing a “Picnic with Pagoda”. This is meant as a family event with grill, sport activities and obviously some Pagoda related competitions (nothing nasty off course…).

The picnic will take place at the Rozalin Palace, a mere 30 min from Warsaw. We will be hosted by one of our colleagues Pawel who went with us to Willingen in his Pagoda. BTW he owns about twenty vintage cars including two Pagodas.

At this point, we expect 12 Pagodas to be there, but there will be about 50 people. Some colleagues are till fighting hard to get their cars done by shops that obviously have promised to get them ready in February or March at the latest…

You can have a look at the venue here http://www.palacrozalin.pl

You are right. The weather question is the crucial one. It already made us postpone the even once. Hope this time it will work. As for the photos, we plan to take many and also some videos. Will try to post it somewhere and show the link to it on this forum

Here are the promised photos from the picnic.

Eight Pagodas have participated with their owners accompanied by their SOs and/or children. Some colleagues arrived in other cars, such as W123 coupé, as shown on one of the pics.

Weather permitting, we were able to enjoy a very attractive program in the Rozalin palace, a mere 25 km (16 miles) from Warsaw:

- we first gathered our cars in a line for the visual pleasure of any pagoda lover.
- we then had a competition mini-race in obstructed googles as shown on some pictures. Our wives served as pilots, guiding blind drivers around. We had to drive the cars to the front of the palace, kiss Anna, the owner, get back to the car drive around the palace, them get the wheel around some points, get back to the car, drive again, reverse and go ahead till the check point, stopping within a very limited space. Loads of fun. Here your truly didn't score too well :D
- while most of us enjoyed the barbecue and good wine, some families competed in the beach volley tournament. in that, yours truly accompanied by Marc, my 9 years old son achieved the second place and a valuable prize :D
- then we distributed prizes, certificates as well as some nice gadgets for the enjoyment of any and all

more pictures to follow...

Stan,

You guys look like you had a great time.  There appears to be a greater mix of MB colours than you see with the US gatherings and I would also say Australian as well as we  seem to have a lot more white and red cars than anything else.

Well done.
