Was that 280SL black with red interior?  Reason for asking is I recently saw a nice  looking Brabus on YouTube.  (although the firewall pad appeared to be the pebble style).

No. This one was gold with black leather.  It had the later alloy wheels left hand drive. The firewall was the wrong pattern and the 280sl badge was the only badge but not auto badge. Not sure if it should have an auto badge as standard. .  It did look like a factory car condition. Though. Still seems a bit expensive.

At the show they sold fangios mercedes fron 1954 lemans. It went for 19 million pounds!,!!

Thanks for that info Paul99.  I've heard from friends who've been to the Goodwood event that it is excellent.

Interesting that the 280SL you saw has the later alloy wheels and wrong firewall pattern.  I can only imagine what the price might have been if the car had been right-hand drive, with a 5-speed manual, and Frigiking air conditioning.  I agree €269,000, (=$US351,000), does seem somewhat dear.  Still, I hope they get it.

Hi, meant to say earlier, I saw a 230sl dark blue automatic in at the goodspanner garage in Brookvale (Sydney) last week.  It had just come from the UK and still had UK plates on it.
Today I was driving into Sydney CBD from Northern Beaches and saw a powder blue pagoda  heading the other way at Spitwater bridge, on the back of a flatbed truck.  Both had hardtops on.

Another amazing year at Goodwood again this year, here is the car in question. Very friendly chaps, the Brabus people.

I spotted something. I wonder if anybody else can?
Clue: it was discussed recently in another post with pictures of a member's car.

Think the camber results from spending too long on a ramp. Silchester had a car at Essen some years back and the wheels looked like they were still in mid air with the car on the ramp

Only things I notice were the lack of auto badge and the bulkhead had the wrong pattern covering. I saw that you can get the exact mb match now rather than the Oem  ones   Are those wheels right?  We're they an option on late cars?  Not keen on them myself.

Getting pedantic but the wiper blades are right over left and not left over right!!!!! and definitely should have the Automatic badge on the boot. Also to be really pedantic, the valves and caps  on the Bundt wheels are incorrect and should have metal valves and caps.

You must be referring to the fact that these alloys are for a w123, not a w113, then.... They look like mine, but I do have correct metal valves and caps...

To me, the gap along the lower edge of the boot / trunk lid looks a tad too much. should be the same as the side gaps. This might be due to a new trunk seal. Still a very nice car for sure.

Having recently purchased an almost identical Tunis beige/dark Brown '68 280SL (Auto) in excellent condition for roughly one fifth of the Brabus asking price of 269,000 Euros, i tend to think the latter is a tad over priced, however beautiful. Cheers PIP1947.

Where are the chrome screws that fix the tension wires at the front corners of the soft top ?
Those screws always look like an afterthought and have Brabus found a way around this !
