Door catch - any other models
« on: June 06, 2013, 05:25:01 »
I have an early 250SL and would like to replace the 3-hole  door catch (Part 272055, see pic below) ) which was distorted when someone tied to hammer the rivets tight.
I can only find this part on SLS's web site but is quite expense once freight to Australia is included.

Can anyone tell me if this same striker plate or door catch was using in any other Mercedes models?

I recently got a pair of these and only got to fit them on Monday. Great fit and doors now close with a real 'thunk'. Any play has now gone.  :) Mine is a '65 230sl.

The finnies used the same chromed striker units.
Some other models had non-chromed units.
In fact i think the 280sl was one of them.

There are striker units with 3 or 4 holes.
