Another W111 classic back on the road,
« on: December 04, 2012, 17:43:10 »
I have been working on this 1966 250se coupe project for the last year or so on and off, The owner has had it since new, but it was in storage for 24 years, Nothing on the car worked but it was a rust free example & after a lot of work I mean a lot of work now it's on the road, I have to say despite all the frustrations that one has to endure during restoration it's so gratifying seeing go off to it's home, I'm sure the owner will have many years of fun driving in this classic.

Cheers.

Looks amazing Shaun, testament to some great work on your part no doubt.

I would love to have a 280SE 3.5 in my garage one day.....................

Thanks everyone,
Yes the car took about 350 hours of (labor of love) to get it to this stage, I did all the work including the paint job (lots of sanding) the owners will have this coupe parked in a beautiful heated garage in their country home north of Montreal the kind that has a round about at the end of driveway in front of the house, couldn't imagine this beauty going to a better place, and yes Stan the color is 172H metallic two stage paint.

That is a beautiful car alright.   There is a 1969 280SE coupe that is advertised locally on Craigslist - http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/nvn/cto/3369917248.html  - that is in my neighbourhood.  Everytime I drive by it I stop and stare and see something that I missed noticing before - absolutley gorgeous cars for all angles.

That car calls out "road trip" in a big way.

The 111/112 Coupes and Cabs are fantastic Milestone cars. Probably a better car than a 113 in a number of ways but I'd take either one.

I have always loved the interior wood and the classic front end...grill, headlights and fog lights. A beautiful car!

Way to go Shaun! I have said many times that I wish I had a 250 SE. All of the shiny interior chrome and BEAUTIFUL (yes in caps) wood binnacle. That is a great example and a good color combination.

Hey John,

How is it going?
I just talked to the owners of this car, the owners got to see the car for the fist time today since dropping it off at my place 14 months ago(were away and just got back). they were shocked by the transformation, loved the interior in particular. Thanks to you.

Starting in a few weeks will be turn for my w113.

Cheers, and talk to you soon.

Hi Shaun,

Were just getting ready to close production for the holidays and we will be back at the begining of the year. I really like the way this car came out if mine comes out with that kind of paint job I will be thrilled as well.
