I'm looking for values of clean, restored cars in the US. Are they found in the SL market letter too? If you can help, I'd appreciate if you would contact me at tcolt@netzero.com.

Thanks, Tom

Tom,

Would NADA Guides be a good resource?

My anecdotal values are likely out-of-date, but until a few years ago, this is what I found for the 3.5 coupes:

condition 1: $35k and up
condition 2: $27k - $35k
condition 3: $20k - $27k
condition 4: no data
condition 5: no data

The six-cylinder W111 coupes were a bit lower, with some variation for 220 / 250 / 280.
For these, condition trumped the exact model designation (as would be expected).
The W112 300 SE/coupes commanded prices below the 3.5 models.

Sports Car Market price guide has just come out, quotes $45 - 90K, with a 4% rise over last year.  Their low would likely be for a strong #2 car.

A very  nice, fairly original car 70,000 miles just sold out of this area (Ohio) for $45 K. Was not perfect but 80 - 85 pts.

Wow! Thanks very much guys. I guess, I should have subscribed to the topic, so I could see the answers. I appreciate the answers. I'm just working on a 1971 280SE 3.5. They ARE a bit better built than the Pagodas, or maybe just better appointed?...
