gatorjaws:
Sorry but the link that shows the instructions for adding pictures to a topic discussion will not open. Can anyone help me?
P.S. I am very challenged when it comes to this sort of thing

Richard Madison:
When posting a message or replying, do NOT use the Quick Reply at the bottom of the message page.
To attach an image, must use the regular reply page by clicking "Reply"

When starting a new thread, the regular Reply page will automatically come up.

After adding the Subject and wording of the message, look at the bottom of the page.
You will see "Additional Options". Click to see some options and the Attach button.

To select the image you want to post, Click "Choose File". You can browse your hard disk to find the image file.

Click "More Attachments" to post as many as 4 images in one message.

The usual formats can be posted with jpg as the most common.

Be careful of the image size. Today's cameras can take photos that are too large to be seen conveniently on a computer monitor. A large image can be attached to a message but it will be difficult to view as it will more than fill the monitor and entire image cannot be seen at one time.

Best size for a typical image is to have the largest dimension about 650 pixels or maybe 850 pixels. Photo software can reduce a large image or the camera can be set to take the photos at about the 650 size so re-sizing is not necessary.

Thanks!

Peter van Es:
Sorry all, I had some website problems yesterday which made parts of the site inaccessible. An hour of headscratching and messing later I had it all fixed again.

Here are the bits of info on posting pictures:

* Help on posting including adding attachments. Note, the HELP function is pretty extensive, look around and familiarize yourself.
Peter

Peter van Es:
I've made a couple of changes to the pictures functions, that all of you will notice. On all new attachments:

* the name of the file is now being made unique upon uploading... you should get no more "Sorry! There is already an attachment with the same filename as the one you tried to upload. Please rename the file and try again" messages
* Secondly, large files (currently set at 1280 pixels) will be resized to 1280 pixels automatically
* For all existing attachments, the system will resize pictures upon first display. A thread with many pictures that are too large, will take longer to open (for the first time only)
Peter
