Picture or description of rear fuel line support needed

(1/3) > >>

This weekend's 280SL small project was fuel lines at the rear of the car.  It looks like the return and supply line from the pump are secured to the bracket welded to the crossmember between the brake modulator and the fuel pump.  But nothing is jumping out of the parts pile.

Picture attached.  Can anyone help with a picture or description?  My 230SL has a plastic tie, which doesn't seem correct.

Thanks,

Does this help?

To see the rest of this unrestored original 280Sl go to http://motoringinvestments.com  and enter the site, click on the Mercedes for sale and look at the white survivor 280 offered for sale at $175,000USD. Click on any small pictures to see the larger images.

Thanks, but not really.  I've circled the bracket where it looks like the lines should attach, but neither line appears to be connected. Doesn't seem right.

And, I made a little mark in yellow where the supply line has been incorrectly replaced by re-using the pump fitting and clamping the line to it.  You would think for $175K you would get the correct $31 part.

I shall also be interested to see what others have to type about this one. I just went out and looked at my car, and there is no clip.

IXLR8:
Hi--

The only clip on my car is a U-clamp that holds the fuel supply line at the mounting bolt for the fuel pump "cage". This is at the end of the metal line where it is joined by the flexible hose coming from the fuel pump.
