Both of our friends here are in Queensland, Australia, in the Brisbane vicinity.  In case you have not heard, they are experiencing what has been called their worst natural disaster presently, with some of Brisbane under water.

Let us hope our friends are high and dry!

Absolutely !  I've seen the news footage of the floods . Let's hope we hear from them soon....

Ulf:
Pretty scary - read somewhere that on top of the damage caused by the flood, they have bull sharks swimming around in the streets...

jacovdw:
Nasty critters those Bull sharks as it can tolerate fresh water very well...

Every once in a while some locals gets munched on by one of these sharks when they go for a swim in the rivers here as these sharks prefer to hunt in murky water.

hello Michael, Louis, Ulf, Jaco

Thanks for your good wishes about the January floods.
Fortunately my home was safely higher than the flood level.

It was a strange time here in Brisbane.
Parts of the city were totally inundated while parts of the city were completely flood free.

The devastion brought out the spirit of our community with many thousands of people volunteering to help those affected.
People gave their time and love to strangers who have now become friends.

again, thanks
