Suggest you do the linkage tour in the technical manual before you go any further.

When I bought my 280 SE, the engine would hesitate badly when starting from a start when warm. After going through the linkage tour, I found everything was wrong that could be wrong. It is amazing that the engine ran as well as it did. Works great now!

You might also look at the engine starting aid tour as those devices can also mess up engine performance when warm.

I would certainly not consider the injectors the first place to go on this... unless the mechanic has actually tested the injectors and has isolated the problem...

Like others mentioned, the linkage tour is the first place I'd go. I'd first make sure points and plugs are fresh. Also get timing just right.

Once the linkage is set to spec I'd do the air/idle and fuel/idle adjustments. Only then would I consider that not enough fuel is being injected...

Yours is a manual shift? In any event good luck and don't fret -- somebody here will get it figured out.

Hello,

Yes, start with the linkage tour.  If the problem still persists, make sure all tune-up items are correct (points, dwell, timing etc).  Make sure that the main fuel filter is clean. If the problems still persists, check the fuel mixture when the engine is at idle warm. A minor adjustment of the idle fuel mixture (IP thumbscrew or intake air screw) should solve the problem.

Keep us up to date.
