installation of soft top compartment vinyl

does anyone know the correct sequence and materials needed to cover the boot with vinyl. world upholstery sells the pre-cut vinyl. Is the foam one qurater inch,  and is it glued on???-The last time I had my put on, the guy screwed it up. It even had wrinkles around the rounded parts. To me the hardest procedure would be  gluing the vinyl around the aluminum strip that goes into the top compartment with the bended metal retention tabs. Can anyone describe the whole process????? Is the foam glued to the vinyl or the boot, or neither????-please help
