Hard Top storage cart

Hi,
Does anyone have the dimensions for a storage cart frame? I was think I could make one with galvanized 3/4 inch water pipe and fittings.

I love to make things for myself, but in this case...these frames aren't so expensive. By the time you buy what you need, i.e. spend the time going to the hardware store, thread the pipe tight enough to where the joints don't slip, or weld it, assemble everything, get some foam, paint it???

Besides. Wouldn't use 3/4 inch pipe. Its not rigid enough.

Just my 2 cents worth and food for thought.

OK, I want one of these!

Like the one in the picture at the begining of the thread.  I have been looking for a folding hardtop rack so that I can take my hard top off at a car show and discplay it nicely.  I have even considered building my own folding hardtop rack.  

I like that fact that the one pictured looks like it would fit in the trunk (at the very least behind the seats).

Who is selling these?  Or do I need to make my own?

My hard top storage rack does not fold up but, I made it out of some scrap wood. I used a few spare 2X4's and some old carpeting for padding. It has served me well for many years and I did not pay anything for it.

Hey Jim. What was the shipping to CA? and do the wheels have a locking feature? fit in trunk?

the two back wheel both lock, and the unit fits very easily into the trunk of my 280SL. 

The invoice I received was from Ekler's.  $138 for folding stand, $42 for a hardtop cover, Shipping and handling was $20. taxes and other misc charge $19.  all in all it cost me a total of $219.

I have mine hanging from the ceiling in the garage out of the way and secure.  I wanted a rolling rack until I borrowed one then it seamed I was always moving it and worrying about something bumping into or scratching the top.
