Nicely done, and better visibility.  D-B did pretty much the same on the next generation SL (they also made the soft top compartment a little more roomy while they were at it so the folded top wouldn't suffer so much when stowed away!).

As expected the experienced eBay seller (item 220468590763) advertises the car as:
"... and is ORIGINAL - tool kit, spare, chock, jack, and every receipt - for every repair and maintenance since new. It's all there. It's so original and has such great patina - that we have done nothing to her these last two years but start her and take her for a short ride.  ...
Although it would be interesting to know what frame they used and how it was fitted in.
