"Oversized engines" for lack of a better term, in bodies/chassis not really designed for them makes for rare beasts but not great cars if handling is any metric.
Think of Carroll Shelby walking into AC Motors with a Ford 427 under his arm, and the result was the AC Cobra 427. A beast.
Or, humble Sunbeam placing a Ford 260/289 in their Alpine to create the Tiger...
On this side of the pond, Chrysler putting the 440 or 426 Semi in the Plymouth Belvedere (among others) which created muscle cars. Highly engineered, sort of, they could turn sub 14 second quarter miles and 0-60 in less than 5 seconds...
Just don't try to turn any corners!
