Getting to feel like Fall, finally
« on: November 06, 2017, 16:32:41 »
Had some much needed rain this past week and feels like Fall is finally here. Had a nice early morning drive yesterday but a bit chilly to have the top down. Photo taken in front of Poor Red's, a BBQ place in the nearby town of El Dorado. It is noted for a cocktail they invented years ago, the "Golden Cadillac" which is made with the liquor Galliano and few other ingredients. Poor Red's is the largest consumer of Galliano in the world as the Golden Cadillac is a very popular libation. The ribs are good too ;)

Great photo John. Sounds like good spot for a food and drink. Just curious about your beige top. I know your car is all original. Was that an original top and what its official colour name, material and code? Thanks Breandan

The top is original and the code is 745 “Biege”. Most of the US cars were being delivered with black tops but I ordered mine with beige as I thought it was a good match for the Cognac upholstery. It has held up really well over the years.

Thanks John. My 280 is the same body colour but has the black top (as per original spec) but I always fancied the idea of a beige top. My interior is black however. Beige looks very well and very contemporary too.

Car looks great as always John ... sad to think it may be the last Drive for the year. I took mine out last week for the last time.

Made a note of the restaurant if I’m ever in the area I’ll give you a ring.

Thanks Dieter. More rain here today so our little car is safely tucked away in the garage but we still might get a drive or two in before the end of the year. As for Poor Red's, give me a ring and we will pay "him" a visit. The place, at least the building, has been there since the 1850s when the gold rush was in full swing.
