Title: Smaller steering wheel
Post by: seattle_Jerry on September 03, 2008, 00:14:34
Has anyone went with a smaller steering wheel? If so, how did it affect steering response?

I'm still looking for a way to get a little more room. The wheel is right where my leg wants to be with my foot on the gas. A little annoying.

If you have power steering, it probably won't be an issue (other than the obvious hardware issues). If not, steering effort will probably be a problem.

Both my Pagodas had wood wheels...one was a Nardi, the other is a Grant. These wheels are available in sizes smaller than the original wheel.

With power steering, wheel size is not a real issue. Some wheels can block part of the view of the instruments depending on seat adjustment and the height of the driver. A slight tilt of the head is usually all that is needed.

Here is the Grant wheel.
