All,
I wanted to let you know that I have decided to put up my fully-restored early '67 250SL up for auction at BaT. The link can be found here: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-mercedes-benz-250sl-56/
Even if you are not interested in placing a bid, please take a look and post comments ....I really want to know what everyone thinks of the restoration.

Beautiful restoration. A few departures from original, but overall great presentation.

Yes I commented on the auction, beautiful car, essentially brand new. It will do well and I hope the new owner will really drive it, like I put about 50K miles on mine in the first few years of my ownership. Especially appreciated how you did all the metalwork, bodywork, paint and engine rebuilding yourself if I saw correctly. Best of luck with the auction.

I could not agree more about the quality of this restoration. That engine bay is an absolute thing of beauty…every little detail is exquisite. At $150k with five days to go, it should do exceptionally well. As they abbreviate on BaT, GLWTA.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. 90% of the knowledge applied to the restoration came from browsing through this forum and the Technical Manual. I learned so much from everyone who posted.

its like brand new. Very nice job. Should do really well. Its a great color combo.

My '67 may go up next. Same color combo; original 5-speed; but.......unrestored. What a beauty!!

Having seen many presented w113 example on BAT over the years, and having become quite educated on originality through the vast posts and technical manual of our exceptional group, I have to commend our fellow member on this extraordinary restoration. The attention to original detail and precise reconstruction to factory specifications has yet to be illustrated in any previous auction on the BAT site. Congratulations and hope the reserve is set at well above $225K, as this example cannot be matched for less……a high bar has been set…..I would hate to part with this beauty if it were mine!
Looking forward to the results,
Bill
