Nothing like a 31-car garage…

I can't believe they don't include the 10 lifts.

I think they're just stating that it's really a 21-car garage, but can be further expanded via the lifts.

This "garage" was featured in the Mansions section of the Wall Street Journal yesterday.  I don't like it any better seeing it now.

I'd rather have this garage...

You couldn't pay me to live with the crazy people in Maricopa County.

I'll go then, take one for the team, if I can live in this shed for free ...

Why do you say they're crazy?

Why do you say they're crazy?

I cannot speak for Rodd, but this one county in the USA is far too often in the news. Most of it political...

I could just ignore it if I had to live there. Just like I ignore the Confederate flags flying in the outskirts of my own community.

There are various definitions of crazy, and it's everywhere. Just have to tune it all out.

Ah, should have known it was headed for the political gutter.

It looks that way, unfortunately.
We used to have an unspoken/unwritten agreement not to discuss politics and religion here and my hope is that it will continue that way.
Since Rodd is also the moderator for this board perhaps he can see the virtue and eliminate the topic completely, since it is "way off" anyway.

There's no political or religious discussion here.

Rodd offered a comment. Thelews asked a question. I made a suggestion, as my interpretation based on the news that is constantly coming to me from the place in question. No discussion. Though he may or may not comment further, or may or may not eliminate the post, the quantity of news out of that location says it all.

I agree, Cees. While what thelews posted is nice, it's only a three car garage. For Pete's sake, THREE CARS! Most of the homes in my old Michigan neighborhood had that and two of them, normal homes, had a four car garage.

If I have to live in some spectacular place costing in the millions, it better have parking for more than three cars.

I'll take it. Now, where to buy that lottery ticket?

Well, Michael, that's probably just the show garage.  I'm sure there is other functional parking space.

I actually thought Rodd might be referring to the way people drive or something else based on his first hand experience there.  Until you mentioned it, I hadn't considered that it was a political statement.  Guess it depends where one's head is at.

If one makes a comment, another asks a question, and a third makes a suggestion, then a discourse exists which may be considered a conversation, exchange, dialogue, or discussion, all words which are synonyms of each other and may be used interchangeably in common usage.

I liked the three-car garage and wouldn't be embarrassed to park any of my cars there . . . might even be able to fit one or two more without crowding, since most of my cars are on the small side  ;^)

I'm sure you are right. Something about those fancy custom made steel trusses! I'd consider them "showpieces"...
The rest of the Ferraris are out in a pole barn in the back 40...only the nicest three are on display!  :)

I'd still take the larger garage...just saying. The rest of the house isn't too bad!

House?  Well, it's not the main home.  It's a "carriage house" with a garage to show off cars, a conservatory and guest suite, not to mention the nice car wash stall.  I can only imagine what the main home consists of and looks like with a multimillion dollar carriage house.

I wasn't talking about the garage (or house it belongs to) that you brought up. I was talking about the $25M listing that I pointed out in the start of this thread. Yes, a pretty spectacular place. May be a bit big for me however. Managing the servants and groundskeepers not to mention the steward of the car collection may be more stress than I want in my life.

Nice property but yes -  too much to keep it all in order.

I ran across a guy who is a "Steward" of a couple car collections.  All he does is take cars out for runs, identifies maintenance issues and writes up a work order for the mechanic and basically plays with cars as much as he wants.  If an owner wants to take a car out he will have this guy check it out first and then has it all ready to go.   Says everything is logged - tire age/tire pressures/oil schedules/antifreeze condition/battery age etc.

1.  I wasn't worried about making a comment on USA politics in the "Way Off" forum.  If that's frowned upon, that's fine and I won't do it again.  /<wrist slap>/
2.  Nobody has taking this down a path of controversy, distaste, anger, hate, or anything like that, which is great.
3.  I didn't know I was a forum admin here!  I was basically inactive from about 2010 to 2022.  I don't recall ever (going back to Group's creation) being asked to moderate a forum, but memory is not always accurate/complete!
4.  I wonder if Richard Madison knows he's also a moderator here?  According to his user stats, he's an associate member who's labeled 'inactive'.  Hasn't posted since late 2020.  He's another co-founding member, joining the forum in Dec 2002.  He was an elderly guy back then, I wonder if he's passed away.

I've removed old moderator statusses... they were added when someone suggested the Way Off Topic forum Way back when...
