I really cannot get my head around the prices people will pay for a car that needs work as against one that doesn't.
One of my customers sold his excellent LHD 280 auto at auction last weekend and it didn't make a great deal more than this one.

There's no rhyme or reason with auctions, just the luck of the draw, makes this early car a real bargain.  Needs a bit of work, but looks a better bet than the red car

That looks to be a way better car! Especially having had a total 1st oversize rebuild including balancing, albeit 30 years ago (for < $1500!)
I saw in the list of services the machine shop offered 'piston expanding'. I'd never heard of that but apparently it involves heating, squeezing and peening out-of-round pistons to get them back into spec.
