Title: Under seat clearance height
Post by: rbouch8828 on November 18, 2022, 19:01:32
Does anyone know the clearance height under the seat? I notice that JBL has a compact subwoofer that is 2 15/16” high and 8x10” wide and long. I am wondering if it’s height would clear the seat cross pieces if it was mounted underneath?
I know the clearance changes from front to back as it slopes toward the back. So there is a max and min clearance.
I’m just hoping someone knows, so I don’t have to pull the seat to find out.
Best,
RB

I would say a height of 50 mm is max height the seats can take.
I have installed woofer-speakers under my seats, old once I’ve had in my garage for more then 30 years, these are 50 mm in height.

50mm is only 2 inches. This JBL is 2 15/16”, almost 3”. Just short of 75mm. Looks like it is a no go.

I have a sub under my passenger (left/non exhaust side) seat. Think we took the under carpet foam and insulation out to squeeze it in. It's a Pioneer unit

It's 70mm high

The specs say 70mm for the height, so it is close to this one.
