Title: Side windows factory tint?

Hello all,

Another interesting discovery as I continue to put my pagoda back together...

My rhs driver side window has what looks like a factory greenish tint whilst my lhs passenger window looks completely clear.

From factory like this or has one window been changed?

Tinted glass all around was an option on my car so I would assume one of them got replaced over the years.

Joe,
Your data card should specify any optional glass.  Since they are different, I would also assume one was replaced with incorrect glass type.

One of those side windows is a replacement.  Is your windscreen clear or tinted?

Thanks guys,

My data card doesn't indicate tinted windows and my windscreen is clear with a tint at the top.

I think the rhs tinted window is a replacement. The rhs door may have been replaced at some time,  the water channels are missing too, see other thread. And I know it had damage rhs front, I can see some repairs on inner front firewall.

Now have to decide what to do.

1. Leave as is
2. Replace one to match the other
3. Tint the lhs one to match the rhs one

A nuts and bolts resto bought as an unfinished (almost not started) project throws up a lot of curve balls but surprisingly mine has gone pretty ok.

Since everything is apart at this point it would be fairly easy to choose #2

Prices vary wildly from $200 to $600 usd before postage to Aus!

Joe,

Suggest you price a window from the local windscreen supplier, they may well be able to get one and the price may surprise you before seeking one from OS. i was very happy with the price for a front screen from Obriens about four years ago.

The cost factor was in the back of my mind when I was typing my comment, but it also occurred to me that there might be someone on these forums who might be looking for just that piece of original glass . . .
